Write for Cuckoo Review

Cuckoo Review is our online arts and culture magazine for the North of England, where young journalists aged 15-23 cast a critical eye on the latest cultural offerings in the region and beyond.

Supported by partnerships with NARC. magazine and top venues, publishers and promoters, our young journalists get priority access to the latest music, books, theatre, cinema and art events. They write to deadlines and new articles appear on Cuckoo Review every day.

But Cuckoo Review is more than just another culture site. Our young writers’ work is edited by our Editorial Intern and they receive personalised feedback on their writing.

Our writers also get access to our exclusive Reviewers in Residence schemes with venues such as Sage Gateshead and Northern Stage, and masterclasses with top journalists such as Lyn Gardner, Laura Barton, Danny Leigh and Lauren Laverne.
