As a squad member, you’ll receive…
- – one-to-one tutoring and email feedback from the core team of Helen Mort, Jenn Ashworth, Stevie Ronnie and Steve Dearden
- – four Squad days a year with guest professional writers
- – opportunities to work on projects
- – support and advice from a network of writers you trust
Being part of the Squad is FREE. You just need to be able to get to their writing days in the North, have regular access to the internet, familiarity with social media, and an enthusiasm for writing. They’re after writers of any formats – from poetry and prose, through film, stage and radio scripts, to games and graphic novels.
The Writing Squad is not about qualifications and it can fit around everything else you’re doing (jobs, studies, family etc).
To apply to join the Writing Squad they need some examples of your writing with a cover note (of no more than 2 pages) telling them about you, your writing, and what you’d like the Squad to do for you. You can send up to ten pages of prose/script or ten poems/songs, or URLs. Also let them know which workshop you’d like to attend, Manchester, Sheffield or Newcastle.
