Get your Arts Award with Cuckoo Young Writers!

Have you heard of Arts Award? At Cuckoo, we think it’s GREAT.

It’s a nationally recognised qualification, which gets you credit for the creative work you already do AND gives you support to take it further. You can do it at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, and it’s brilliant for personal statements and CVs.

In the New Year, we will be offering young writers the chance to work towards their Bronze Arts Award when they come along to our Cuckoo Young Writers groups in Newcastle and Amble.

There are four parts to the Bronze Award: reviewing, taking part in an arts activity, writing about your “arts inspiration” and passing on your skills. You can read more about Arts Award here: http://www.artsaward.org.uk/site/?id=64

You’ll work towards Arts Award from January to March (over approximately 10 weeks) within the regular Cuckoo sessions, with a few extra get-togethers to get work ready for moderation. At the, you’ll get a certificate presented at a special Cuckoo event.

If you’re interested in joining a Cuckoo group to do Arts Award OR if you already come along to a group and would like to take part, just email laura@newwritingnorth.com or phone 0191 204 8851 for details.
