Yesterday, I sat in a silent classroom.

The children were working

when my phone broke the silence.

I answered, the news came.

I ran,

out to the car

and drove.

 

There, within hospital walls

I sat outside the emergency room,

with my crying daughter

held close.

The hours came by,

the crying never stopped.

It was then,

at the stroke of 6,

I knew.
